First of all,I’d like to thank any and everyone that I’ve been blessed to interact with during my career in the music business. For those of you who are reading about me for the first time,I am what you could call a music enthusiast by nature.Vinyl was my medium for most of my life. Today I was fortunate to participate at the Beatswapmeet’s 3-year anniversary. Some things that I’ve taken away after today’s experience is that there is a culture that’s alive and well.

Today was an interesting one to reflect on. It dawned on me when a close friend asked me for feedback on his latest work he plans to release. I presented him with the idea about “chemistry”. Lots of music that record labels hype up to promote don’t always have chemistry. For example, you could have a really dope artist rapping or singing over a track but it doesn’t excite or inspire you to listen to more material. Something is just missing. That’s what I would call “chemistry”. It’s like having Travis Barker outshine the artist he’s featuring on his song. Given,he’s the artist featuring someone on the song but making the artist sound boring is probably “chemistry”. I respect the artists and the intent of the project but “chemistry” seems to fit what’s missing nowadays.

Dunno why everyone was jocking this movie so much. They should watch Heat first and then see if this movie’s story was anything different from it. It was definitely a 6.6 just because they had a pretty good cast. But the screenplay was bobo. It’s tough to try and follow The Departed.
